About Check Ring Size

Empowering couples and jewelry lovers to find their perfect ring size directly from their screens—without the inaccuracy of printers.

The Problem We Solved

In late 2024, I was searching for a proper ring size for myself. Like most people, I searched online for "how to measure ring size at home." What I found was a sea of printable paper templates, tape guidelines, and string instructions.

However, when I tried printing these guides, I discovered a critical flaw: printer scaling errors. Depending on browser configurations, operating systems, or printer driver defaults, the templates printed at 94% scale, 102% scale, or fit-to-page ratios. In the jewelry world, a sizing error of just 1.5 millimeters is the difference between a ring that fits perfectly and one that slips off or won't pass the knuckle.

Frustrated by this and determined to find an accurate solution, I sat down to build a digital alternative: a sizer that calibrates to the exact dimensions of your screen.

How Screen Calibration Works

Instead of hoping your printer is calibrated, Check Ring Size uses a standard physical object that almost everyone has: a credit card, ID card, transit pass, or gift card. Since these standard cards follow the international ISO/IEC 7810 ID-1 standard (exactly 85.60 mm wide), we use them to calculate your screen's precise pixels-per-millimeter density.

Additionally, because fingers are elliptical rather than perfectly circular, our interactive tool measures both the width and the profile thickness of the finger. This dual-dimension sizing computes a highly accurate elliptical circumference, matching real-world ring shapes.

Our Commitment to Privacy

Your trust is paramount. Check Ring Size requires no registration, collects no personal identifiable data, and stores no photos or finger measurements. Every single calculation is performed locally inside your browser sandboxed environment. We believe in providing an ad-supported, 100% free tool that respects your digital privacy.

Editorial Standards & Accuracy

All conversion values and reference charts on our website are matched against the official ISO 8653:2016 specifications for ring sizes. We cross-reference sizing data across key regional benchmarks including US/Canada, UK/Australia, Europe, Japan, and India.
